Online High School Algebra 1 (twice/week. year-long)

Required Materials: Glencoe McGraw Hill Algebra 1 Common Core Edition ISBN: 13 978-0-07-663924-3 and one composition notebook (wide ruled), 8.5”x11” lined paper (wide ruled), 3-ring binder, TI-30XIIs scientific calculator, graph paper, ruler, pencils, blue pen, red pen, colored pencils, highlighter. Materials will be provided electronically; writing supplies and paper may be required; papers may need to be printed.
Description: In this rigorous one-year course, students will solve two-step and multi-step equations and inequalities, explore patterns in linear functions, discover solutions for systems of equations and inequalities, factor polynomials, solve and graph quadratic functions and equations, gain understanding of rational functions, rational equations, radical expressions, and be introduced to statistics and probability. Students are expected to take notes during class and participate in group activities.
At-home Work: Thirty to fifty minutes of at home work five days per week.

An online grade book will be used for each high school class and may be shared by families with their charter teacher. Some Arbor teachers may offer an alternative syllabus and grade book for a non-a-g track option and/or an honors track option; please check with each teacher for details. Students joining mid-year need prior experience with the subject matter and teacher permission and/or assessment.
