Alison Rubin

Teacher

Miss Alison grew up in Davis, California. She earned a B.A. in English & Spanish from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Education from UC Irvine. She holds teaching credentials in California and Colorado with a specialization in teaching English learners. After teaching middle school English and Creative Writing in Colorado for two years, Miss Alison is thrilled to be joining The Arbor.

Miss Alison believes the goal of education in literature and writing is to guide adolescents in becoming thoughtful, clear-thinking, self-made individuals; to help them achieve an enriched experience of life, an expanded outlook on the world, and the means to eloquently express themselves. This sense of purpose inspires every day of her teaching.

When not teaching (or otherwise reading and writing), Miss Alison loves painting, learning to play the piano, drinking tea, and going for long walks.
